Cream Silk Saree, No Border
Kanjivaram silk in cream. Kanjivaram means silk woven in and around Kanchipuram in Tamil Nadu. Gold-tone zari runs through it; zari is the metallic thread the tradition is named for. It has no border at all, which is unusual for this weave and leaves the color uninterrupted. It carries a Silk Mark tag, the Indian certification for genuine silk. | Care | Dry clean the first wash. After that, if dry cleaning is not possible, hand wash gently in cold water without detergent and let it air dry in shade — never machine wash, tumble dry or wring it. Wash the body separately from the zari border and pallu, which may be dyed differently. Store it wrapped in cotton cloth rather than plastic, somewhere cool and dry, and unfold it every few months to let it air.
