Kanjivaram with No Border

Woven as a Kanjivaram: the silk woven in and around Kanchipuram in Tamil Nadu. Across the body, woven stripes. Zero-zari, meaning no metal in the cloth at all. It is framed by no border at all, which is unusual for this weave and leaves the color uninterrupted. A good weight for a full wedding day. It takes a pleat easily and sits close rather than standing away from you.

Care	Dry clean the first wash. After that, if dry cleaning is not possible, hand wash gently in cold water without detergent and let it air dry in shade — never machine wash, tumble dry or wring it. Wash the body separately from the zari border and pallu, which may be dyed differently. Store it wrapped in cotton cloth rather than plastic, somewhere cool and dry, and unfold it every few months to let it air. Iron through a thin cotton cloth on medium heat, never directly on the silk or the zari. (Supplier's care guidance.)
